BENGALURU (FIBA Women's Asia Cup 2017) - Australia may have fallen short in the Women's Asia Cup Final, but they can take consolation in the fact that their very own Kelsey Griffin was named tournament Most Valuable Player.

MVP Griffin was a picture of consistency for the Opals, scoring not fewer than 9 points each of their games and capping it all off with a performance to remember in the Final against Japan. When the chips were down and the stakes at their highest, Griffin dazzled, scoring a game-high 30 points on 11-of-19 field goal shooting for the Aussies. She also hauled down 15 rebounds, got 2 steals and blocked 3 shots.

Griffin was named to the FIBA Women's Asia Cup 2017 All-Star Five together with Japan's Manami Fujioka and Moeko Nagaoka, China's Li Yueru and Korea's Lim YungHui. The MVP and All-Star Five awards were offered by Tissot.

Fujioka and Nagaoka were the breakout stars for Japan, who missed star center Ramu Tokashiki and whose star floor general Asami Yoshida was not 100%.

Yueru gave the fans a glimpse of China's bright future in Women's basketball, while YungHui was a consistently high level performer for Korea as they finished among the top four teams.
