Tickets on sale for 2015 FIBA Americas Championship

SAN JUAN (2015 FIBA Americas Championship) - FIBA Americas has announced that tickets for the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship are officially on sale in Ticketmaster.com.mx.

The continental championship will be played at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, Mexico, from August 31 to September 12.

Tickets will be sold in two sessions of two games at an average price of $143 Mexican pesos per sessions. Prices will begin at $20 Mexican pesos. The most expensive ticket will be $800 pesos (Gold Medal Game, court level).

The 2015 FIBA Americas Championship will have the participation of national teams from Brazil, Panama, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Mexico in Group A along with Argentina, Canada, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Venezuela in Group B.

The event will send its two finalists to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. The third-, fourth- and fifth-place teams will play in the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

The Director of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Horacio de la Vega said that the capacity of the Palacio de los Deportes in the first and second phase will be 12,375 spectators (with the possibility of increasing it, depending on total sales), and of 18,856 for the Semi-Finals and Final day of the competition.

"The ticket prices are very accessible to the public, beginning in 20 Mexican pesos ($1.28 US dollar), comfortable enough to make this FIBA Americas Championship, an event for the whole family," he said.

The President of FIBA Americas, Usie Richards said: "These prices are a guarantee that the goal for eveybody involved is to make this FIBA Americas Championship the best in its history. To make that a reality we need a packed, sold-out Palacio de los Deportes every night and we have no doubt that it will be achieves through this iniative of having the prices be very accessible.

"We are confident that we will have fans from throughout the continent with us in Mexico. This announcement will give them a chance to not only visit our most important event, but to attend all sessions in order to fully enjoy the best that basketball in the Americas has to offer."

Tickets can be bought at Ticketmaster Mexico, which has 350 outlets all around the country, as well as an international website and call center.
