MADRID (FIBA Basketball World Cup) - Serbia knocked off Brazil the second time around at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup, winning their Quarter-Final match-up 84-56 to secure their fourth top-four finish at FIBA's flagship event in the last five tournaments.

Milos Teodosic led the way for the Europeans, who won the FIBA World Championship as Yugoslavia in 1998 and 2002, with 23 points while Bogdan Bogdanovic had a dozen and the big man pair of Miroslav Raduljica and Nenad Krstic had 10 apiece.

Serbia, who lost to Brazil 81-73 during group play, will take on the winner of the second Quarter-Final in Madrid between France and hosts Spain in Friday's Semi-Final.

Wild card recipient Brazil once again missed out on reaching the top four at the tournament - their seventh straight failed attempt.

Anderson Varejao and Marquinhos Vieira were the only players to score in double digits for Ruben Magnano's team, finishing with 12 points each.

Teodosic had a strong start for the Europeans with eight points in the first six minutes as they took a 14-9 lead. Brazil got to within one point, but Serbia would not give up the lead and were up 21-17 after 10 minutes.

Back-to-back three-pointers by Alex Garcia edged Brazil in front 23-21 but Teodosic answered right back and the Serbs would push the advantage to 29-23. Serbia struggled to contain Nene Hilario, who spurred a 9-0 run that had Brazil up 32-29. But the Europeans punched right back with eight straight points for a 37-32 halftime lead.

Serbia came out of the break strong and the game was essentially decided with about seven minutes left in the third when both Tiago Splitter and Nene were hit with technicals after a foul, resulting in five made free-throws and then a Stefan Markovic lay-up for a seven-point possession.

Bogdanovic nailed a three-pointer to push the advantage to 53-36. It extended out to 66-44 after three quarters.

Brazil could only get to within 23 points in the fourth quarter.
