Gems power their way into Quarters

VIDNOE (2015 FIBA U19 Women's World Championship) - Australia turned on the style in a dominant 91-23 triumph against Mali to power their way into the Quarter-Finals of the 2015 FIBA U19 Women's World Championship.

Turning point: Quite simply, there wasn't one. Australia jumped out with a blistering 17-2 start from the tip and never had cause to look back.

Stats Don't Lie: One of the biggest variances was in three-point shooting with Mali a stone cold 0 of 18 from long-range and Australia lighting it up with 42 percent after hitting 10 attempts from beyond the arc.

Game Heroes: Alicia Froling put in a flawless shooting effort with a perfect 7 of 7 from the floor en-route to 19 points and only three missed free-throws spoiled her otherwise super line. Alanna Smith was similarly ruthless, going six of seven for 16 points and falling just one board short of a double-double.

The Bottom Line: Mali were outclassed in every facet and now contemplate trying to get their first win at the tournament in the Classification Round. Australia continued to show why they could and should have their eyes pinned on a medal and they are just a couple of steps away from achieving that. They have depth, real power and still unbeaten, they are gathering some serious momentum.
