CHANGSHA-HUNAN (2015 FIBA Asia Championship) – Amjyot Singh returned a tournament-high 32 points leading India to a 73-70 against an hitherto unbeaten Palestine and immediately paid tributes to his teammates for his performance as well as the win.

The 203-cm, who this year will become one of the first two Indians make their debut in the Japanese professional league looked up to his fellow Japan-bound teammate Amritpal Singh and Vishesh Bhriguvanshi as the leading lights of the team.

"They do all the hard work, and I get to score," he laughed off his 32-point, 11-rebound effort.

"I don't think this is a surprise at all," added Bhriguvanshi about the win.

"They (Amritpal and Amjyot) along with me and Yadwinder (Singh) have been playing together for a long time and we have great chemistry.

"They (Palestine) were coming off a great run. So they probably took us light," the ONGC wingman added.

"This win has boosted our confidence," said Amritpal Singh.

"We actually played very well in all our games so far (India won one out of the three games in the Group A Preliminary Round, but against the ousted Malaysia which does not count).

"Againt Iran we played with great cohesion, but were beaten by a far more experienced line-up," said Bhriguvanshi.

"And against Japan, we were made to pay for a mid-game slump. But today we were alright," he said.

The win opened India's account in the wins column for the Second Round, but the trio counted on the "tough win" to keep them in good stead.

"A win like this helps us feel more confident. We will give it a very good fight in our two remaining games," said Amjyot.
