ATYRAU (KNL Leagues) - Regular season champions Barsy Atyrau won back-to-back home games on Tuesday and Wednesday to take a 2-0 lead in the KNL Men’s League Finals against last year’s runners-up Tobol Kostanay.

Barsy are now one win away from clinching their maiden title.

Game 3 of the best-of-five Finals is scheduled for Tuesday.

Barsy cruised to a 92-56 win on Tuesday and followed it up with an 85-72 triumph the following day.

Sergei Kazantsev (pictured) led the Barsy charge in the opening win scoring 16 points and collecting six rebounds.

Dmitriy Klimov accounted for 13 points. Pavel Ilin and Dmitri Dyatlovsky each had 11 points.

On Wednesday, it was the turn of Edgar Chunda to lead Barsy with a 22-point effort.

Klimov was at his usual best added 20 in the winning cause. Andrei Endropov chipped in 11 points.

For Tobol, Golubev once again was at the fore. The 23-year-old forward delivered yet another game-high with 23 points but again it came in a losing cause.
