UMMC stroll past ESBVA-LM to consolidate top spot

EKATERINBURG (EuroLeague Women) - Reigning EuroLeague Women champions UMMC Ekaterinburg have all but wrapped up pole position in Group B after they strolled to a 91-69 success against ESBVA-LM.

Sealing their eleventh consecutive victory, the title holders improved their Regular Season record to 11-1 as UMMC showed their power in the paint.

Brittney Griner continued her good form as the center finished the contest with 19 points, while frontcourt partner Emma Meesseman was also on fire as she shot 71 percent against her former club. There were also six assists for Slovenian ace Nika Baric.

While ESBVA-LM competed well in the early stages despite some key absences such as Les Bleus point guard Olivia Epoupa, UMMC took control during the second quarter and never looked back.

ESBVA-LM are now 5-7 and as their hopes of a top four spot fade, there's also concern about a potential place in the EuroCup Women Quarter-Finals as Uniqa Sopron and Hatay look to take advantage.
