Okul hops into Fenerbahce hot-seat

ISTANBUL (EuroLeague Women) – Firat Okul will be at the helm of Fenerbahce when they arrive in Ekaterinburg next week for the EuroLeague Women Final Four.

The play-caller has been appointed as the successor to George Dikeoulakos who left the club off the back of a disappointing derby loss to Galatasaray last weekend.

Okul has been head coach of Istanbul Universitesi during recent seasons and while he lacks experience at the highest level, the 37-year-old is rated as one of the brightest emerging coaches in his homeland.

He has also worked with an array of Turkey national teams at various youth levels and he won't have much time to settle into his new job.

Fenerbahce have a KBSL clash against Hatay BSB on Wednesday night, with another Turkish League game at the weekend before they depart for Russia, where they will face UMMC Ekaterinburg in the EuroLeague Women Semi-Finals.
