Yakin Dogu Universitesi and Bellona Agu step towards the EuroCup Women Final

MUNICH (EuroCup Women) - Yakin Dogu Universitesi and Bellona Agu have taken a step towards the EuroCup Women Final after collecting a pair of absorbing road wins.

Yakin Dogu Universitesi rode a compelling and pulsating roller-coaster as they eventually came out with an 87-81 victory at Galatasaray.

Having built a 21-point lead early in the second-half it looked like they were going to cruise to victory, but backed by a vociferous home crowd, Galatasaray came storming back to make it a one-shot game with seven minutes remaining.

Moriah Jefferson was on fire for the hosts and eventually finished with a stellar 31 points and 9 assists.

But, the visitors had their own inspiration in the shape of the in-form Kayla McBride and towering Quanitra Hollingsworth who shared 52 points. Meanwhile, Courtney Vandersloot also handed out 15 assists for the winning side.

Earlier in the day, Bellona Agu ensured they will take a six-point cushion into the second leg of their Semi-Finals tie with Hatay after recording a hard fought 71-65 triumph.

In front of another passionate home crowd, the visitors spoiled the party for the locals in Antakya as they recovered from a slow start to take the victory, with a last-gasp tip-in by Tanisha Wright potentially priceless for the return game.

It was an impressive team performance from Bellona Agu, with Jelena Dubljevic, Aysegul Gunay, Ann Wauters and Chelsea Gray all posting double-figure scoring returns.

Courtney Paris replied with 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists in defeat.
