FIBA EuroBasket Women 2017 Qualifiers: Social media round-up and reaction

MUNICH (FIBA EuroBasket Women 2017 Qualifiers) - We catch up with those involved in the last day of the Qualifiers and check out the best of social media.

There is no better place to start than with those who put in the best displays and made our top performers on the final day of the Qualifiers.

The future for Russia looks incredibly bright with their array of brilliant young stars who helped their team finish with a flourish and post an unbeaten campaign after beating Greece. They celebrated with someone special afterwards.

Latvia held their nerve to punch their ticket as they collected the win they needed against the already qualified Slovenia. It left experienced guard Gunta Basko-Melnbarde delighted.

"I'm happy and proud for my team and coaches," she enthused.

"We got a lot of good vibes, focused really well and implemented our game plan.

"It's never easy to qualify for the FIBA EuroBasket Women Final Round as there are a lot of good teams around Europe.

"Any of our mistakes belong in the past and so we're now looking forward instead," added the veteran.

Maybe it was Latvia's secret weapon courtside that managed to knock Slovenia out of their stride!

Belarus weren't even playing and instead, had to wait nervously for news to see if they were going. They took the last ticket and that was celebrated by Katsiaryna Snytsina.

"We have a lot of respect for Serbia as an Olympic bronze medal and fantastic team who are EuroBasket Women champions," she stated after celebrating Ukraine topping their group and registering an unexpected flawless 6-0 campaign.

"We came [to Nis] to do something tough and it's something we are proud of.

"Also for the country of Ukraine, this is a big thing. It is good to be a part of it and this is just a first step for us."

Finally, it's now back to the weekly grind and excitement of club basketball - with Les Bleues ace Helena Ciak wasting little time in preparing for the snow and ice of Kursk.

She will be back in Russia alongside the domestic players in Kursk who like France, didn't taste a solitary loss during Qualifying.
