Career: Iran Nara (Iran-Superleague, 2001-02), Sanam (Iran- Superleague, 2002-05), Petrochimi (Iran-Superleague, 2005-06), Mahram (Iran-Superlague, 2006-08)
The most complete and fundamentally-sound player on the team, Samad brings a little bit of everything to the table. He is Iran’s captain and voice in both practices and games. Aside from his leadership, he is also the primary scorer alongside Hamed Ehadadi. Together they are a strong one-two punch. He is a good rebounder and consistent scorer and overall the most polished player on the squad. Having the size of a genuine two guard, Samad has had to fill in as the role of small forward due to the tragic death of his brother, Aidin Nikkhah Bahrami. Aidin played a vital role in his country’s gold-medal win at the FIBA Asia Championship in winning the gold and was one of Iran’s best. Samad is mentally tough and a mature player on the team and has shown great character during this trying process. He led Mahram to the league title this past season, defeating Saba Battery in the championship. He is a work horse who strives to better himself day in and day out and will prove invaluable for Iran now and tomorrow.
