Ukraine-born Victor Khryapa is a very resourceful and determined person. Khryapa’s role was very limited in both Portland and Chicago during four frustrating NBA seasons, but the Russia international showed a strong mentality and bounced back to play a starring role at last summer’s EuroBasket. He was, national team coach David Blatt said on more than one occasion, the best player on the floor for the Russians. Like Andrei Kirilenko, Khryapa always does a lot of things to help the team win, whether it’s playing excellent defense on the interior, hitting big shots from long range, rebounding or handing out assists. Khryapa ranked fourth in rebounding and fifth in assists in Spain. By coming back to CSKA Moscow in February, Khryapa gave his former team a boost in the Euroleague and in the Superleague (14.5ppg and 7.8rpg).
