Career: Langen (Germany-2.Bundesliga, 1999-2002), West Virginia (NCAA, Div. 1, 2001-2006).

One of Germany's few hopefuls at his age, Johannes Herber used four seasons of tough Big East Conference basketball with West Virginia to turn into a solid all-around wing player. The 23-year-old is an excellent shooter who helped West Virginia to the Elite Eight of the 2005 NCAA Tournament. He averaged 9.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.4. assists and 1.0 steals as a college senior.

An intelligent player who can pass the ball and prides himself on defence, Herber fits perfectly into the mold of Coach Dirk Bauermann's system. And Herber's nightly experience in the physical Big East Conference should help him perform in his first major international competition.
