As in the case of club team-mate Amir Amini, his role in the team has often been as back-up to Mehdi Kamrani in the back-court although Davari has had much more success when either replacing Kamrani or occasionally playing alongside him.
Davari had a poor Olympic Games in 2008 having shone brightly in the FIBA Diamond Ball tournament ahead of Beijing.
He only averaged 2.4 points per game but was far more effective last summer in helping Iran to win the FIBA Asia Championships where he managed a healthy return of over seven points per game and really upped his production in the rebounding and assists categories too.
He is one of the quickest players on the roster and loves to be aggressive on offence either taking the ball to the hoop or kicking it out to the shooters. A ‘lefty’ bursting with energy, he brings intensity to the team and will be looking to build on his hugely successful last tournament with the National Team.
