Shepherd is just the kind of young player with the right attitude that Coach Rautins could love for years to come as he fits perfectly into the team ethos of a hard working side.

He is a natural leader and was captain at Michigan even if he wasn’t the biggest producer stastistically speaking.

At National Team level he still has plenty to prove in terms of his talent levels and ability to produce although other players such as Ryan Bell have shown that having limited productivity is not a barrier to getting international experience and a role on the team.

Shepherd has just finished his rookie pro-season and will remain in Europe to play in the second tier of German club basketball next season with Osnabrueck.

He might not have enough to make much of an impact this time and if he does make the cut then expect a handful of minutes off the bench.
