Career: St Joseph’s Secondary, Whitefire Club, Long Island University (USA – NCAA)

Valerie Nainima is one of the most important members of the Fiji side. The best player in the youth categories, she’s now the trump card of the National Team. That was obvious at the South Pacific Games where she averaged 25.7points. At Long Island University in America, where she’s playing with fellow Fiji star Mikaela Whippy, Nainima is the first offensive option of the team (20.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists). During her freshman year of 2006-07, she was honoured as the Northeast Conference Player of the Year and looks to have a bright future as a professional in the United States, Europe or Down Under.
