Career: JOMO Sunflowers (WJBL-1, 2006-08)
Asami Yoshida is a young playmaker that should become one of the leaders in Japanese basketball in the near future. Her court vision helps her passing and she often draws a lot off “oohs” and “aahs” with her fancy play. On defence, she is tenacious and hounds opponents with relentless pressure. Last summer, Asami was voted MVP of the 2007 FIBA U21 Asia Championship for Women after averaging 15.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. She also averaged 12 minutes per game with the senior side at the 2007 FIBA Asia Championship for Women.
