Born in Kayar, in the north of Senegal, Fatou grew up in France. A skilful player, she entered the farm team of French giants Bourges. But in 2003, she moved to Bourges’ rivals US Valenciennes and played as a reserve on the team that captured the EuroLeague Women crown in 2004. Since 2005, she has played in Spain and is currently on the books of Universitario Ferrol in the second division, averaging 10.3 points per game. After making the Senegal National Team for the first time for the 2006 FIBA World Championship for Women in Brazil, she was one of the last two players cut ahead of the 2007 FIBA Africa Championship.
