Career: UMass-Boston (USA-NCAA III, 2003-07)

Tony Barros is returning to the Cape Verde National Team after a year at UMass-Boston to complete his degree. After first only a practice player in the morning sessions at UMass, hard work saw him eventually join the team. A strong shooting guard and a good defender, he will never be forgotten in Cape Verde because it was his three-pointer that beat Egypt at the last second of the bronze medal game last year. The shot secured a 53-51 win for Cape Verde.
