Career: Phoenix Douala (Cameroon, 2004-06), BEAC Yaoundé (Cameroon, 2006-08)
Bayang is a rarity when it comes to Cameroon. He’s a player who competes in the local league but is still a part of the National Team set-up. A backup forward, he enchanced his reputation at the 2007 FIBA Africa Championship as a valuable reserve, averaging 17 minutes per contest. Bayang only scored 6.2 points per game and made six of his 24 (25%) shots from the floor overall, but his value to coach Lazare Adingono was his defence. At 21 years of age, he is hoping to use the exposure he will get at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Athens as a launchpad for a career abroad.
