While a player in the French second division in 2003, Ekanga-Ehawa was called into Cameroon National Team. He played in the regional qualifier for the FIBA African Championship in Cameroon on the outdoor court of Douala. This small forward/shooting guard is very proud to be part of the National Team. He had the opportunity to play his first African Championship last year in Angola and averaged 9.7 points per game on the team that won a silver medal. After a five-year stretch in French Pro B where he was voted MVP after the 2006-07 campaign, he struggled this year because of several injuries. He played in 21 games for Elan Chalon/Saône but with limited playing time and low statistics: 2.7 points on 27.3% shooting from the field.
