Career: Syracuse University (USA-NCAA, 2005-08)

Rautins is the son of Canada’s head coach Leo Rautins. He was forced to redshirt at Syracuse University this year after tearing his ACL two minutes into the first game of the FIBA Americas Championship in Las Vegas last summer. When healthy, Rautins gives Canada a true three-point threat and his recovery could be a determining factor for the National Team as it attempts to reach Beijing via the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Athens. He led the team in scoring with 13.4 points per game at the 2007 Pan American Games. At 6ft 5in, Rautins has size for the position but must add strength to his frame to be able to handle the rigours of a 10-day qualifying tournament.
