Ricky Sanchez started his professional career at the age of 16 with Guayama. His size and talent make him an intriguing prospect. He can play center, but also on the wings thanks to his great mobility and a decent three-point shot. In 2004, he left Puerto-Rico to attend the IMG Academy in the United States. Since 2005, he has played for the Idaho Stampede, first in the CBA and then in the D-League. With Puerto-Rico, he played at the 2003 FIBA World Championship for Junior Men and at the 2005 FIBA World Championship for Young Men. He made his debut with the senior National Team at the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship where he averaged 16 minutes per game.
