Coach Jung took over the national team in most unsual circumstances.The Korean Basketball Association, despite winning a gold medal at the 2007 FIBA Asian Championship, elected to part company with Yoo Soo-jong.
A former player himself with KIA Motors in the eighties, Jung was always known as a tough defender and it is no surprise that he is constantly preaching the virtues of defense.
On offense, the name of the game for Jung is discipline
Jung began his coaching career in 1992. Two years later and Samsung Bichumy.handed him the reins to their team and he guided them to a championship and a couple of appearances in the finals.
After the departure of Korean National Team star Beon Yeon Ha from Samsung, Jung also parted company with the club and now concentrates his energies solely on Korea.
