Career: Segle XXI (Spain-LF2, 2004-06), Celta Vigourban (Spain-LF, 2006-08).
A star in the making, Torrens is being given her first National Team appearance after having two excellent years with Celta Vigourban. She started to play the game at Sant Josep Obrer, the same school as Marta Fernández, Wisla Krakow’s EuroLeague Women All-Star, and quickly became part of Segle XXI where she played at the LF2. Meanwhile, Torrens dominated European youth competitions and followed her U18 coach, Miguel Martínez, to Vigo where she has averaged 11.7 points per game in two seasons. Torrens is a special player in Europe as she can play at both backcourt positions with her size. Even though she reads the game better now, Torrens hasn’t lost her love for running and finishing coast-to-coast plays. But the best Alba Torrens is yet to come.
