Verameyenka made it to the big stage last October at the EuroBasket Women and had a major impact. She hardly ever missed shot, making a tournament-best 69% from the floor with most of those coming on mid-range jumpers. That was one eye-popping statistic and here was another - five blocked shots in the semi-final defeat to Spain. The slender Verameyenka is a natural rebounder, a deadly passer and a terrific shooter. This year, she posted big numbers in the EuroCup Challenge with Nadezhda Orenburg (12.1 pts, 9.5 rbs, 2.2 as and 1.3 blks). In Europe, she hit 60% of her shots from the field and 50% from behind the arc. Her brother is Belarus men’s National Team star Vladimir Veremeenko.
