Katsiaryna played a decisive role in Belarus’ bronze-medal success last October. With an average of 7.9 points and 3.1 rebounds, the mercurial Snytsina was never afraid to take the clutch shots in Italy. Don’t let her 37% shooting from the field fool you. When the game is on the line, Snytsina is money. After starting her career in France, she attracted the Russian powerhouse Dynamo Moscow. Too young to compete with more experienced players, she had to wait for her transfer to Dinamo Energiya Novosibirsk to assume a bigger role. Playing for the National Team coach Anatoly Buyalski, she really blossomed. So the decision this year to move back to her hometown of Ust Kamenogorsk in eastern Kazakhstan came as a big surprise for everyone. In nine games at last year’s EuroBasket Women, she averaged 7.9 points and 3.1 rebounds.
