Career: BAYI ARMY (China-WCBA, 1995-2008)
Chen Nan, the 1.97 meters center, did triathlon training at an early age and as a result seems to be in better shape than her teammates. Her excellent speed and leaping ability help her immensely. In the first year, she played for the Bayi Army Team and won both awards of "leading blocker" and "leading rebounder" in the WCBA in 1999. She was named the Asian Youth Championship MVP in the same year. Later in the WCBA, Chen Nan won the WCBA championship several times with the Bayi Army Team. As time has passed, Chen Nan has matured. At the 2006 Asian Olympic Games, Chen Nan scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the final. Head coach Maher said the progress of Chen Nan was the biggest surprise at the Doha Asian Games.
