What would Australia be without Belinda Snell? What they probably wouldn’t be is reigning world champions. In the semi-final of the 2006 FIBA World Championship, Snell had the biggest game of her career. Australia trailed in that game in the second half when Snell came to the rescue. She made a three-pointer and then a lay-up to give Australia a 69-68 advantage. Snell had a remarkable performance, making three of five (60%) from the arc and five of seven from two-point range (71.4%). "We showed some Aussie spirit on the court," Snell said. "We didn't lose control of the game at any point." She ended up nailing 15 of 33 shots from behind the arc in that game. This season at Bourges in France, Snell was outstanding. At the EuroLeague Women Final Four, Snell was so prolific shooting from long range (she made seven in the semi-final against Gambrinus Brno) that she made the all-tournament team.
