Career: Centro Esportivo Mauaense (Brazil-CNBF), Santo Andre (Brazil-CNBF, 1997-03), Fio/Pao de Acucar/Unimed/Ourinhos (Brazil-CNBF, 2003-08).
Though considered one of the best players in Brazil’s top flight (12.5 pts and 5.8 rbs in 2008), Chuca, a wing, has not played much in major tournaments for the National Team. Her best performance for Brazil came last year at the FIBA Americas Championship, just after Paulo Bassul took over. Up to then, she had made appearances in two South American Championships and at the 2007 Pan American Games. Like Brazil teammate Karen, Chuca has never played for a club outside the country. An intelligent player who is obedient to the tactical scheme, Chuca is a good shooter and a real fighter, one who will be ready to give blood to ensure Brazil’s place at the Beijing Games.
