Career: RTU/Klondaika Riga (Latvia-LSBL, 1999-2003), Western Illinois (USA-NCAA, 2003-06), Universitat F.C.Barcelona (Spain-LFB, 2006-07), Hondarribia-Irun (Spain-LFB, 2007-08).
Teilane is more solid on defence than spectacular at the offensive end but she can surprise both teammates and rivals with good shooting from mid-range, too. The 1.95m center has played for RTU/Klondaika since she was 15 and polished her skills at Western Illinois for four years. Zane’s NCAA statistics were very impressive, especially in the blocked shots category. In 2006, she became the first Latvian to play in the WNBA, making it onto the Washington Mystics’ roster. During last year’s EuroBasket Women, she averaged 6.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.0 blocked shot per game and had her best performance in the quarter-final triumph over France when pouring in 12 pts and grabbing eight rebounds. Tamane played last year with Jansone in Irun, Spain, where she averaged 12.4 points, 9.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocked shots per game in the EuroCup Women.
