Career: Spartak Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 1999-2000), Spartak Moscow Region (Russia-Superleague, 2000-08).

Karpunina was the leading scorer of the Russia National Team that won the gold medal at the U20 European Championship in 2004. Since the EuroBasket 2005, she has been a member of senior National Team. Her role has increased in the team throughout the years and she won the gold medal at the EuroBasket last summer. The Moscow native is also a two-time EuroLeague Women winner with Spartak Moscow Region, the club where she has spent most of her career. This season, in a team packed with international superstars, she averaged 4.3 points and 4.1 rebounds per game in the EuroLeague, and 4.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in the Russian Superleague.
