Once known as “l’enfant terrible” of Russian Basketball, Irina Osipova finally burst out last summer at EuroBasket 2007, averaging 10.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per game to help the Russia National Team win the gold medal. She was unlucky not to make the all-tournament team as she was Russia’s most consistent player. Until last summer, she had failed to live up to expectations and express her outstanding talent, even if she scored the decisive basket with 30 seconds left in the EuroBasket 2003 final against Czech Republic. Osipova was a huge factor for Spartak Moscow Region in their 2007 EuroLeague Women Final Four triumph. She possesses an excellent feel for the game and has the perfect size and technical skills.
