Kelly, who claimed a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Sydney eight years ago, and a fourth place finish in Athens in 2004, is hoping to play in her third Olympics this summer in Beijing. At 28 years of age, she’s one of the most experienced members of the group. She was already present at the 1998 FIBA World Championship for Women in Berlin. Like Erika, the role of this strong and athletic center will be to take control of the low post for Brazil. Six years after she last played in the WNBA with the Detroit Shock, Kelly Santos has returned to the league to play for the Storm in 2008. This will force her to miss a part of the preparation.
