Career: HAERBIN (China-WCBA, 1992-2005) Sacramento Monarchs (USA-WNBA, 2005-2006) HARBIN (China-WCBA, 2006-2008)

Miao is one of China’s most important players, something she demonstrated at the 2006 FIBA World Championship for Women in Brazil by averaging 17.6 points per game. Miao also excelled at the 2008 Beijing Basketball Test Event, particularly in the final against Team USA when she erupted for 26 points in her team’s 84-81 upset of the Americans. She began to play basketball under the influence of her two brothers, who are both older. In 1997, at the age of 17, Miao played for the National Team for the first time. Three years later, Miao became one of the key players of the 2005 team. Miao, together with Sui Feifei, joined the WNBA’s Sacramento Monarchs but didn’t play much due to injury. She plans to found a basketball school for children after her retirement.
