Career: TTT/Rapa Riga (Latvia-LSBL, 1997-2000), Virginia Tech (USA-NCAA, 2000-04), DKSK Miskolc (Hungary-A Division, 2004), Lietuvos telekomas (Lihuania-LMKL, 2004-06), USO Mondeville (France-LFB, 2006-07), Dynamo Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 2007-08).
Kublina is not only good under the basket but she also can score in crucial moments of games from behind the three-point arc. Daughter of a former TTT Riga player, Ingrida Liekna-Kublina, Ieva showed her talent early, not only in Latvian Youth teams, but also at Virginia Tech in the NCAA. In 2004, Kublina became the first Latvian to be drafted by a WNBA club when the Indiana Fever took her with the 31st pick though she never played an official game there. Since returning to Europe, she has improved step by step. At last year’s EuroBasket Women, Kublina averaged 8.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Last season, she played for Dynamo Moscow in the ultra competitive Russia Superleague Women and the EuroLeague Women.
