For a long time, it looked like Cindy Lima would never earn a call-up to the National Team. Former coaches preferred other types of centers and she was always cut at the last moment. Now Evaristo Pérez’s basketball fits Lima like a glove as she brings quickness in the low post (not only on offence but defence as well) and strong work in rebounding and blocking shots. After winning the gold medal at the 1998 European U18 Championship, Lima has endured a roller-coaster professional career. She played in Barcelona, Portugal and even had a brief stint in Italy before settling down in Vigo. Once there, she started to play her best basketball and gained consideration for Spain. Last summer, she was excellent at the EuroBasket Women.
