Michaela Uhrova has always been an important role player who comes off the bench. She has claimed five medals at European Junior Championships and two with the senior team. Uhrova may not be tall, but she is a solid, physical point guard. At the 2007 EuroBasket Women in Italy when her team was struggling, she played quality minutes behind starter Hana Machova. Individually, it was easily her best competition with the national team. Uhrova was a real threat from behind the arc and connected on 44.4% of her shots from the floor overall. Wanting a more prominent role, Uhrova made the surprise decision to sign for Slovakian Extraliga strugglers Banska Bystrica, a team that didn’t compete in Europe this season.
