A well-rounded veteran known for her speed, grit and spectacular passes, Marchanka’s legend really started in the United States while playing at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She broke 11-season and career records, eventually becoming the third all-time leading scorer in school history and joining the top 10 scorers in conference history. She finished her senior campaign ranked among the top players in her conference in eight categories, leading the Knights in scoring (16.6), assists (5.7), three-pointers made, steals and three-point percentage. When she came back to Europe, she spent two seasons in Meblotap, a small Polish club. She then went to Russia to play in Novosibirsk with Belarus National Team coach Anatoly Buyalski. The Rechitsa native has been one of the key players for Belarus. Last October, with nine points and seven assists against Latvia, Marchanka helped Belarus capture the bronze medal. The point guard who always has a smile on her face averaged 7.6 points and 3.3 assists in 21 minutes per game. The 1.65m Marchanka, 29, is the leader of this young team.
