Career: Force Majeure St. Petersburg (Russia-Superleague, 1996-97), CJM Bourges Basket (France-LFB, 1997-03), CSKA Samara (Russia-Superleague, 2003-07), CSKA Moscow (Russia-SuperLeague, 2007-08).
Ilona Korstin is one of the most graceful and talented players in her country. In both the Russia National Team and CSKA Moscow, she is a vital component. The St. Petersburg native has won the EuroLeague Women twice, first with French powerhouse Bourges in 2001, and then with CSKA Samara in 2004. She has also won the EuroBasket twice with the Russia National Team, averaging 12.1 points and 6.1 rebounds during last year’s triumph in Italy. Prevailing in Beijing is now her main goal. Korstin, who thrives in transition, is a good rebounder. This season, she averaged 10.4 points and 4.7 rebounds in the EuroLeague but failed to lead CSKA Moscow to the Final Four.
