One of the most dominating players in the world, three-time Olympic and two-time FIBA World Championship gold medalist Lisa Leslie has had a storied career. Leslie has captured 10 gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal during her tenure on the international stage and not only is a three-time USA Basketball Female Athlete of the Year, but also was named the MVP of the 2002 FIBA World Championship. With her selection to the 2008 Olympics, Leslie becomes just the second U.S. athlete to be named to four Olympic squads, trailing just five-time Olympian Teresa Edwards. She was not only the USA’s leading scorer in the last three Olympics, but also ranked first or second on the team in rebounds. The youngest participants at the 1992 USA Olympic Trials, Leslie began her international career in 1989 at the FIBA Junior World Championship and quickly rose through the ranks to establish herself as one of the most recognizable faces of women’s basketball today. Professionally, Leslie led the Sparks to two WNBA crowns, both times earning Finals MVP honors, she is a three-time league MVP, earned All-WNBA Accolades in each of her nine seasons, competed in seven WNBA All-Star Games and was the 2004 Defensive Player of the Year. Last year she added a new title to her name: mom. She and husband Michael Lockwood became the proud parents of Lauren Jolie Lockwood on June 15, 2007
