During her USA Basketball career she’s captured gold medals at the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship, 2006 Opals World Challenge, 2005 World University Games and in her inaugural international event, was named MVP of the gold medal winning USA squad at the 2003 FIBA World Championship For Young Women (U21). For her efforts on the U21 National Team Seimone also garnered 2003 USA Basketball Female Athlete of the Year honors. She’s also taken silver at the 2007 FIBA World League Tournament as a member of the USA Select Team and was on hand as the U.S. finished with a disappointing bronze medal at the 2006 FIBA World Championship. Following the Worlds, USA head coach Anne Donovan challenged Seimone to work on her defense, she was always an offensive threat but needed a more well-rounded game. So that’s just what she’s done the last two years and as a result Seimone earned a coveted spot on the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team.
