Career: Centre Real Bamako (Mali, 2001-04), Stade Malien Bamako (Mali, 2004-07), Dakar Université Club (Senegal, 2007-08)
One of the few new faces in the team who did not come out of the prestigious Djoliba Athletic Clubs, Diarra started playing basketball at Stade Malien but left at 16 for Real Bamako in search of playing time. At 19, she came back to Stade Malien and quickly earned a spot in the starting line-up. Nicknamed “Touba”, she was followed by her former junior coach Cheick Oumar Sissoko, who is now an assistant with the National Team. Diarra, a tall point guard who has a nice jump shot, is a key player for the Dakar University Club just as her Mali teammate Hamchetou Maïga was 10 years ago.
