Tasmania doesn’t have a reputation of producing big-time basketball players but there are internationals that have come from that part of the country. Hollie Grima is one of them. After starring in the WNBL and playing her first off-shore season in Italy, Grima is even better than when she won the 2006 FIBA World Championship with the Opals. At the 2008 Beijing Basketball Test Event, Grima was a very solid contributor on the boards and on defense. Looking back at Brazil, Grima was thrilled with the gold medal win over Russia but if the Aussies can make it to Olympic final, she’d like to take on a different team and that, she said, is “Obviously America, but any team that gets there, if we can make the gold medal game, we’d be happy to play anyone.”
