Career: TTT Riga (Latvija-LSBL, 1997-99), Siena (USA-NCAA, 2000-04), Hapoel Haifa (Israel-Premier League, 2004-05), Yaya Maria (Spain-LF, 2005-06), Perfumerias Avenida (Spain-LFB, 2006-07), Hondarribia-Irun (Spain-LFB, 2007-08).
Jansone is very quick and aggressive under the basket and can play at both center and power forward positions. Her parents are both basketball coaches so it is not surprising that Liene has made a career in the sport. She learned basketball with the Latvia youth teams but also honed her skills at Siena in the NCAA. Jansone twice started EuroBaskets as the Latvia National Team back-up center but, during the tournaments, she quickly moved each time into the starting five. In 2007, she averaged 10.4 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, including a 14+8 performance in the crucial quarter-final triumph over France. Last season, she had good stats in the EuroCup Women with Irun: 14.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.
