Svetlana Abrosima’s profile is quite special as she spent four years in the United States at the University of Connecticut. When she was younger, Abrosimova was also a member of the St.Petersburg school #86’s legendary graduating class in which Maria Stepanova and Ilona Korstin were her classmates. She is a complete player who’s able to score, rebound and hand out assists. Defensively, they do not come any tougher. It all makes her a very useful player for coach Igor Grudin. After playing in the Czech Republic and Italy, Abrosimova returned to her native country in 2003 and has played for three of the biggest teams in Russia since. Last summer, she was back in
Ekaterinburg and reached the EuroLeague Final Four, averaging 4.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.
