Career: Liaoning (China-CBA, 2001-08).

Zhang is another outstanding guard from Liaoning, the Chinese basketball province that continues to provide famous players and coaches to the National Team. When he started to play basketball, Zhang was of an average height but his determination, speed and ability on the fast break impressed the coaches. A starting guard of Liaoning ( the team that reached the CBA Finals this season), Zhang was a late cut before the 2004 Olympics but did make the National Team for the 2006 FIBA World Championship. In March, 2008, he was selected into the National Team for the third time.
