Career: Split (Croatia-A1, 1999-2005), TAU Ceramica (Spain-Liga ACB, 2005-06), F.C. Barcelona (Spain-Liga ACB, 2006-07), Lottomatica Roma (Italy-Lega, 2007-08). Selected in the second round (#41) of the 2005 NBA draft by the Toronto Raptors.
Despite having been drafted by the Toronto Raptors, Roko-Leni Ukic has yet to play in the NBA. His time in North America could come soon, however, after a strong season with Lottomatica Roma. He grew up in Split before joining Spanish powerhouse TAU Vitoria at the age of 21 after an impressive EuroBasket 2005. He played in the Liga ACB for two years, first with TAU and then Barcelona. Though he did not start, Ukic did have the opportunity to discover the Euroleague and gain a lot of experience. After his EuroBasket 2007 experience, Ukic travelled to Roma to play for his National Team coach Repesa and helped the club reach the Top 16 of the Euroleague. Ukic showed this season in Europe that he has matured. While still an explosive scorer, he is now a better decision-maker. Ukic this summer agreed to a contract with the Toronto Raptors. While he didn’t play particularly well at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying event, he did get plenty of minutes and remains a vital member of the Croatia set-up.ROKO-LENI UKIC
