Career: GE Verias (Greece - 1993-95), Filippos Verias (Greece-3rd Division, 1995-97), Grindavik (Iceland-A League, 1997-98), Near East (Greece-HEBA, 1998-99), Peristeri (Greece-HEBA, 1999-2002), Panathinaikos (Greece-HEBA, 2002-08)
Tsartsaris is tall but can move and behave like a “short” guy on the court. A power forward/center, he has the green light from coach Panagiotis Yannakis to step outside and shoot from behind the arc. Tsartsaris is a good passer, both on the interior to fellow big men or cutting teammates. An excellent defender, he is always ready to give help. He has a variety of moves and is one coach Zeljko Obradovic depends on heavily at Panathinaikos where he has played since 2002 and won four championships and five cups. He was voted MVP of the cup final in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Tsartsaris was a big part of the National Team’s gold-medal success at EuroBasket 2005 and their silver-medal run at the 2006 FIBA World Championship in Japan. He is one of the most underrated big men in Europe, something he showed with excellent performances at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
