Career: Olympiakos Piraeus (Greece-ESAKE, 1996-2000), Peristeri Athens (Greece-ESAKE, 2000-01), Olympiakos Piraeus (Greece-ESAKE, 2001-2002), CSKA Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 2002-08).
Though a bit mechanical and not very quick, Alexei Savrasenko has steadily developed into one of the best defensive centers in Europe. After being loaned to Peristeri in 2001, his career took off and this wide body finally began to show his great shot-blocking and rebounding qualities. With his national team, he established himself as a key man patrolling the middle though last year he averaged just 6.4 points and 2.6 rebounds in 17 minutes per game at the EuroBasket in Spain. Injured during a large part of the 2007-08 season, Savrasenko will be looking to make up for it at the Olympic Games with the national team.
